UmweltOffice®/TALAS TÜV.com-certified

Milestone and important quality statement by Siempelkamp NIS Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH in Alzenau: In December 2024, NIS’ UmweltOffice®/TALAS environmental data-management system was the first data-acquisition and -handling system (DAHS) to be certified by TÜV Rheinland in accordance with the requirements of the new DIN EN 17255 international emissions-monitoring standard. The certification supplements and updates previous approvals and suitability tests by an important component for the European market.

Siempelkamp NIS Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH (NIS) has established itself as a service provider and supplier of turnkey systems for industrial companies and energy plants. The team at NIS possesses great expertise in the fields of environmental databases, process-information and software-solutions systems, turbine set analysis and diagnostics that has been developed over many years. Energy suppliers, industrial companies and public institutions across the globe are in need of these services.

NIS’ reputation is enhanced by the fact that its solutions meet all commercial and technical quality standards. Reliable values for monitoring the emissions of certain substances – e.g. dust, SO2, NOx, CO – constitute an important criterion for optimum environmental protection and are put to the test by standards and approvals. Regulations exist that limit the emission of these substances into the atmosphere. NIS’ environmental data-management system uses the TALAS data-acquisition modules to log emissions and store and process data before transferring them to the environmental authorities. The UmweltOffice® program is used to evaluate the data in accordance with the respective guidelines issued by government agencies. The system further provides important information for the environmentally friendly and cost-effective operation of production facilities. The manufacturer has designed the system for remote maintenance to reduce maintenance costs.

The TÜV-certified UmweltOffice®/TALAS environmental data-management system is suitable for the continuous acquisition and processing of emissions data at plants in accordance with TA-Luft (Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control in Germany) and the relevant federal pollution-control regulations as well as for deployment at plants that fall under the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Act. It has been approved by the Federal Environment Agency in Germany. The system also constitutes a certified environmental data-management system in accordance with DIN EN 15267 and MCERTS and therefore meets the strict requirements set out in the relevant regulations and guidelines for emissions monitoring. It additionally meets the requirements defined in EU Directive 2010/75/EU (IED) and DIN EN 14181:2015-02.

The current TÜV certification is further confirmation for NIS of the safety and reliability of its emissions system, which was first certified in 2012. An extensive laboratory test was carried out in accordance with the directive during which, for example, data acquisition, transfer, event reporting and the correct generation of emissions reports were scrutinized. “This certification is another milestone on the way to establishing NIS’ emissions-analysis system on the European market. It confirms the quality of our concept and gives NIS’ customers the certainty that they can depend on a TÜV-certified system that complies with current standards,” said Dr. Aldo Weber, Managing Director at Siempelkamp NIS Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH.
