Hot cells
Hot cells are heavily shielded rooms for remote handling or conditioning and - if necessary - storage of highly radioactive substances. These substances can come from various areas of nuclear technology, research, industry (e.g. radiation sources from measuring instruments for quality assurance) and medicine (e.g. diagnostics, radiation therapy and nuclear medicine).
- Equipment
Movable work tables
Storage areas (e.g. internal floor storage, barrel storage)
Cellular cranes with drive motors outside the cell
Airlocks (e.g. drum airlocks, small parts airlocks)
Tools and systems for conditioning (e.g. dismantling equipment)
Remote-controlled handling technology (e.g. master-slave manipulators)
Shielding walls and shielding gates
Radiation protection windows
Steel lining
Electrical, control and measurement technology
Lighting, audio and video technology
Plant control and monitoring
