Urban development funding

The Information System for urban development funding has been developed for the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community for promoting sustainable urban development in Germany. The federal and state governments provide financial assistance under various programs for investments in the restoration and development of cities and communities. This is intended to strengthen the function of cities as economic and residential locations.

The federal government provides an annual funding for urban development. With more than 5,000 funded measures, administrative processing requires a proper infrastructure that allows effective administrative processing of all measures.

The system serves the following business processes:

  • Manage the of measure data

  • Redeployment of funds

  • Evaluations of support programs and measures of all federal states

  • Cross-program evaluations

  • Community key and constituency data

  • Generating print templates for the federal programs (federal reports)

The application is used to create the printable version of the annual Federal Urban Development Report. Then it will be submitted to the Federal Printing Office or published on the Internet.

Furthermore, a module for electronic, form-based data collection for supplementary information and e-monitoring has been integrated. With the help of this module, external participants, such as the responsible federal state authorities, can provide additional accompanying information on funding program measures.
