RPV Stud cleaning
Improve performance by cleaning RPV bolts and reactor pressure vessel nuts.
Cleaning tools and kits are other products in our range. Gentle and efficient cleaning of the RPV studs and cover nuts reduces material wear and increases service life.
Our machines use the dry brush cleaning method, which is easier to use, and are electrically or pneumatically powered and equipped with a suction device.
Two brush modules carry out the thorough cleaning of the threads of the reactor pressure vessel bolts. The RP vessel stud is rotated by an electric motor. The bolt is permanently secured against falling over during the cleaning phase. Two permanently installed threaded brush modules are moved precisely to the RPV bolt thread to be cleaned. One brush module contains 8 brushes. These are pressed against the thread with a controlled force. The brushes rotate in opposite directions and brush the hardened grease out of the thread, where it is extracted by the suction system. The brushes are driven by servomotors.
The RPV cover nut is unscrewed from the bolt and the old grease is removed separately from the reactor pressure vessel bolt in the cleaning system using an internal thread cleaner.
