VEM is an information system for monitoring and documenting event notifications on quality-relevant modules of production plants. The system has been specially developed for production processes following GxP (good practice) guidelines.
Event handling in production process often requires an appropriate documentation. This documentation obligation usually covers the entire range from the recording of the event via to solving the problem to release and quality assurance. Sometimes the resulting zeal for documentation hinders the processing of the actual problem. On the other hand, in the case of disorderly handling processes, it can happen that after the problem has been solved, documentation or quality assurance fall behind after all, everything is up and running again. Especially in processes following GxP guidelines, such omissions can lead to unpleasant surprises during the next audit.
Our information system efficiently documents the processing of such event notifications. The software maps the workflow of the machining process and independently selects the correct processing path from the multitude of possible alternatives. Each step of the process has to be completed with an electronic signature. After that it can be released for the next processing step. As a result, the next responsible agent is informed about the pending task by e-mail. If a processing step has not been completed within a specified time, the responsible agent including deputies are automatically notified again. In a final stage, the automatic escalation scenario informs all personnel responsible for this process. An event notification is completed after quality assurance has been performed.
