PADE - Personal and task-related dose control

PADE is a database application for both access control and personal respectively order-related dose monitoring. For the controlled area of nuclear power plants, it balances and monitors compliance with the dose limits given by the Radiation Protection Ordinance. Furthermore, it checks the validity of required examinations and instructions.

Starting with supplying dosimetry systems for German nuclear facilities in 1999, we can draw on many years of experience in the fields of radiation protection, information technology and in the processing of approval procedures.

Current, PADE supports dosimetry personnel in their daily work in 15 nuclear facilities.

Dose balancing and monitoring

Dose balancing takes into account operational and official gamma and neutron doses as well as officially determined incorporation doses from body counter measurements and excretion analyses.

Monitoring can be carried out according to dose limits for daily, monthly, quarterly, annual and lifetime doses.

In accordance with RiPhyKo and the VGB model, PADE enables monitoring of detection and requirement thresholds of doses that are resulting from inhalation of tritium, radon or aerosols during work in subareas of the controlled area.

Appointment monitoring

In PADE, any type of instruction and examination deadlines can be defined. That may be medical or respiratory protection examinations, radiation protection or respiratory protection instructions, to name just a few. The effect of deadline overruns in controlled area access can be defined depending on the person’s radiation protection category.

Interfaces

PADE offers interfaces to various systems from different manufacturers in the working environment of dosimetry and radiation protection such as

  • Electronic dosimeters and dosimeter readers

  • Official evaluation centers

  • Incorporation and contamination monitors
